Will the ember screen fit on my fire pit?
The ember screen is compatible with all 80cm Milkcan fire pits, apart from Gobi 80, Cairo 80, Athens 80 and Santiago 80 (due to the handles on the side). It can also be used on the Montana 100 fire pit, keeping in mind that the screen will sit over the bowl/burning area, rather than the whole fire pit.
What is the difference between an ember screen and a fire pit cover?
The ember screen can be used for small to medium fires, and can be used while the fire is still burning. The main purpose of an ember screen is to prevent embers and sparks flying out of the fire pit.
The fire pit covers are designed to protect your fire pit and accessories when not in use. Using a cover on your fire pit and accessories will prevent rusting or fading from rain and the sun, and also keeps the fire pit clean and dry ready to burn at any time.
You will need to ensure all coals have been extinguished and the fire pit has cooled completely before placing the cover on top.
Can I use a fire pit cover over my ember screen?
Yes! Our Fire Pit Cover 90cm fits over the ember screen, if you would prefer to leave the screen on the fire pit when not in use.
Will my ember screen rust?
Your ember screen is finished with a high temperature black painted surface that is resistant to heat. Depending on how often the screen is used on a fire, it will gradually age to a natural rust finish over time.
