Warmer weather and longer daylight hours in summer calls for plenty of gatherings with loved ones. Did you know that your fire pit can be utilised in the hotter months simply by popping one of our timber table tops on top and turning it into an entertainers dream coffee table? Whether you’re serving up cocktails, canapes or a charcuterie board, the memories you make surrounded by your family and friends will last long after the season is gone.

To help you level up your hosting skills, and create an Insta-worthy cheeseboard, we find the following tips useful:

Choose your board or base – while we usually automatically go for a wooden board, why not think outside the box and try a slate or marble tray, and experiment with different sizes and shapes.
Add your cheeses placed strategically across the base – try to include a variety of flavours and textures.
Add your cured meats – some standard favourites are prosciutto, salami and chorizo, and rolling the slices of meat before placing down creates a visually appealing feature.
Add your savoury items – we love the inclusion of olives, pickles, roasted peppers and nuts to balance the sweeter flavours on the board.
Add your sweet items – fresh fruit such as strawberries, grapes or blueberries are a crowd favourite, while chocolate will always be a winner!
Add some bread – Choosing a variety of crackers or bread sticks allows your guests to compliment other ingredients.
Garnish – sprigs of rosemary or edible flowers will add the perfect finishing touch and wow your guests!

Don’t forget to include plenty of cheese knives, toothpicks, napkins or plates!
