01 Position the pillar
Choose a spot near your driveway or path with clear access for couriers. The Cove installs into existing concrete flooring, or a small concrete slab.
02 Anchor it down
Fix the base with the supplied anchor bolts - two bolts, a drill and a spanner is all it takes.
03 Set the solar panel
Place the solar panel nearby, where it finds the most daylight, then run the cord to the silicone round opening at the base of the letterbox.
04 Done - it runs itself
The dusk sensor takes over from here. Lights up at sunset, off at sunrise, no switch and no app required.

Frequently asked questions
Does the light still work in winter, or after cloudy days?
Yes. Three hours of sunlight gives you around three nights of lighting (up to 30 hours), and the high-capacity battery is sized to carry through 3 days of rain or 7 days of cloud. Through a long run of constant rain the glow may not last the full night - it recovers with the next decent day of light.
My letterbox spot is shaded - where can the solar panel go?
Anywhere within 4 metres. The panel is separate from the pillar on a 4m cable, so it can sit in a garden bed wherever the sun actually lands, while the letterbox stays where it looks best.
Can I turn the light off, or change when it comes on?
It runs itself. A day/night light sensor switches the glow on at sunset and off at sunrise - no timers, switches or app. To turn it off, simply unplug the solar panel at the base of the letterbox.
Does the warranty cover the lighting as well as the letterbox?
Yes. The Cove is covered by a 5 year structural warranty and a 10 year lighting performance guarantee, backed by lifetime technical support. The solar module, battery, LED strip and lock are all replaceable, so key components can be replaced over the product’s life.
Does the glow light up my house number?
Yes - the whole arch glows, so numbers fixed to the face of the letterbox are lit from the LED lights. House numbers are sold separately.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
No. The Cove arrives fully assembled and the lighting is a self-contained low-voltage solar system, so there’s no mains wiring or electrician. Anchor the pillar with the two supplied dynabolts, place the solar panel, plug in the cord and you’re done.
How big a parcel will it take?
The Cove receives multiple parcels in a single delivery, up to 28.5cm x 44cm x 15cm each. Lift the lid and the parcel floor rises to seal off the compartment below; close it and your parcel drops down behind the lockable rear door - kept secure and dry until you’re home.
Is the rear door suitable for a garden bed?
Yes. The rear access door is raised, so it clears mulch and planting behind the pillar. Collection is by key lock, with 3 keys supplied.
Does it take A4 mail?
Yes. The Cove receives A4 envelopes and magazines through the top lid alongside parcels, so everything lands in the one locked compartment.
Does the Cove match Colorbond fencing?
We use our own colour finishes, but the Cove’s three colours sit close to popular Colorbond shades: White is similar to ‘Dover White’, Charcoal to ‘Monument’ and Black to ‘Night Sky’.
