Cove Solar Parcel Pillar Letterbox Recognised in the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards

We’re proud to announce that Milkcan has been recognised at the Australian Good Design Awards for the fourth year in a row, with our new Cove Solar Parcel Pillar Letterbox receiving a prestigious 2026 Australian Good Design Award.
Recognised in the Product Design – Hardware and Building category, Cove was awarded for its considered combination of design, innovation and everyday functionality.
For us, this fourth consecutive win is an exciting milestone and reflects our continued focus on creating products that not only work beautifully, but become part of the overall design of the Australian home.

Designed to stand out, day and night
Cove represents a new direction in parcel letterbox design.
Its curved facade and vertical detailing create a refined architectural feature during the day, while integrated solar-powered LED lighting transforms the letterbox after dark, illuminating the facade and house numbers without the need for mains electrical connection.
The solar lighting automatically activates from sunset to sunrise, bringing together street appeal and practical visibility for homeowners, visitors and delivery drivers.
Behind the design, Cove is still built around the everyday functionality expected from a Milkcan parcel letterbox, with secure parcel storage, an anti-theft parcel mechanism and lockable rear access.
The result is a letterbox designed to be more than a place for mail and parcels, it becomes part of the home’s facade.

What the Jury said
The Australian Good Design Awards Jury recognised the way Cove brings together secure parcel delivery, architectural design and integrated solar lighting:
“The Jury recognises Milkcan’s Cove Solar Parcel + Mail Letterbox as a smart addition to the parcel letterbox category, combining secure delivery storage with integrated solar-powered lighting in a refined architectural form. The Jury was impressed by the thoughtful resolution of the lighting integration and commends the design team on creating an elegant, functional design that elevates a traditionally utilitarian product into a cohesive architectural feature. Well done.”

Four years of Good Design
Receiving a Good Design Award for the fourth consecutive year is something we’re incredibly proud of.
Since our first recognition in 2023, each award has reinforced our belief that everyday outdoor products can be practical without compromising on design.
From rethinking parcel security to considering how a letterbox interacts with the architecture around it, we’re always looking for ways to make the products Australians use every day more considered, functional and beautiful.
Cove is the latest step in that journey.

Design that leads
The 2026 Australian Good Design Awards are presented under the theme Design that Leads, celebrating the important role design plays in navigating complexity, driving innovation and creating positive change.
Established in 1958, the Australian Good Design Awards are Australia’s longest-running international design awards and recognise excellence from around the world across 13 design disciplines and more than 30 categories.
Each project is evaluated by an independent Jury of more than 100 Australian and international design experts against three core criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.
To have Cove recognised amongst this year’s winners is an incredible honour for the Milkcan team and another proud milestone as we continue designing outdoor products for Australian homes.
